Born: 1970 in Ukraine, Based in: Cyprus
As an artist, Wadim has a diverse background in both graphic design and fine arts. With a Diploma from Art School No.1 in Minsk (1986) and a Graphic Design degree from Educational and Art Center (1987), he has a solid foundation in art and design. Additionally, Wadim holds an MSE degree from Belarusian Technical University, which has further expanded their knowledge and technical expertise.
An artist who reflects on contemporary social issues through abstraction. He relies on Bourdieu’s sociological ideas, in particular, the theory of capital and the concepts of fields. His luminous, intricately crafted paintings might, at first glance, appear digital, but they are entirely handmade. The multilayered technique reflects the complexity and intractability of many hot social issues such as inequality and war. This is the author’s way of showing that the issues that worry the artist and their causes are multifaceted and overlap.
In recent years, Wadim has participated in a number of residency programs, including the Dukley Art Center Residency Program (curated by Marat Guelman), and the Summer Residency Program at School of Visual Arts NYC. These experiences have allowed him to refine their artistic skills and expand their network.
